Charter Provides Quality Homes

Charter Community Housing is a thriving housing association, managing more than 5,600 homes in Oxfordshire.

The Association is lead by 12 board members.  Of these, four are tenant representatives, four are local council representatives and four are ‘independent’ members (who bring specific skills and experience, such as legal and financial).

These members monitor the organisation’s performance in delivering and improving services to residents, as well as approving policies and expenditure, plus providing guidance to ensure that the Association delivers the promises made to residents in 2004, when their homes were transferred to Charter from the local Council.

As part of the transfer Charter committed to a major investment programme of more than £43 million to bring homes up to and beyond the Government’s Decent Homes Standard across the region.
