Do you have a grand idea for loveLIFE?

Resident projects nationwide will share the benefit of £60,000 worth of investment through Sanctuary Group's 'Grand Ideas Fund'.

Torbay residents are set to loveLIFE with the help of thousands of pounds worth of funding from Sanctuary Housing.

The Grand Ideas Fund offers up to £1,000 to groups that need financial support to help deliver activities within their local community for the benefit of residents.

In keeping with recent pledges to loveLIFE, a Herald Express initiative designed to inspire people to change their lives for the better, the fund can also be used to cover the costs of health and fitness initiatives across the community.

Totalling £60,000 for projects across England, the funding scheme is now open for applications from organisations, charities, resident groups and voluntary bodies.

Peter Hoarle, Sanctuary’s community investment project manager, said: “It doesn’t always take a huge amount of money to have an impact. Relatively small amounts of funding can make a real difference to people’s lives.

“The £1,000 could go towards anything – from a healthy eating project, to exercise classes, or materials for a fun day event. The important thing is that the project helps people and neighbourhoods to flourish.”

The Grand Ideas Fund is designed to support as wide a variety of projects as possible, however they should fall in line with the priorities of Sanctuary’s community investment programme.

These include financial and economic inclusion, youth activities, community facilities, care and support and improving physical and emotional wellbeing.

Applications to the Grand Ideas Fund should be submitted to the Sanctuary Housing Community Investment team on 01905 334271 orpeter.hoarle@sanctuary-housing.co.uk.
The closing date for applications is March 2013.
