Elderly residents do their bit to help the fight against cancer
Staff and residents atExning Court Extra Care scheme in Exning had some fruity fun on Friday whilst raising money for a good cause.
The event at theSanctuary Care scheme in Cotton End Road celebratedCancer Prevention Fruity Friday, a national campaign to raise awareness and funding to help fight the disease.
Residents were joined by friends and family to enjoy a day dedicated to fruit, eating fruit pies and flans and drinking fruit teas and juices.
Guests also got the chance to win some fruity prizes in a game of bingo, including pineapples, bananas, nectarines and fruit jellies.
In total the event raised £100 which will go toCancer Research UK.
Katrina Savage, Activities Co-ordinator at Exning Court, said: “We all had a wonderful time on Fruity Friday, the bingo was great fun and everyone really got into the spirit of the day.
“The most important thing is that we raised some money for a really good cause.”
