Group directors swap their usual roles for National Customer Service Week
Sanctuary Group Directors swapped their usual roles for a day and lent a helping hand to staff and residents at three care homes for National Customer Service Week.
Ian McDermott, Sanctuary’s Group Director – Property Services visited Watlington District Care Home, in Watlington to help serve lunch and take part in an art activity morning.
Tony King, Sanctuary’s Group Director – Capital Investment went along to Beach Lawns Care Home in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset. He spent the day with the residents and staff, taking part in an activities session and serving afternoon tea and cake.
And, Craig Moule, Sanctuary’s Group Director - Finance and Resources had the difficult job at Heart of England’s Westmead Care Home in Droitwich of judging the resident’s fantastic cake competition.
The visits marked Sanctuary’s commitment to participating in the national week, which is organised by theInstitute of Customer Service and aims to promote good customer service and the vital role it plays within organisations.
Speaking about his visit Ian said: “I had a really enjoyable day at Watlington and was privileged to get the opportunity to meet so many wonderful residents and members of staff. It was great to take part in the art activity and I managed to serve lunch to the residents without breaking anything which I think everyone was relieved about!”
Tony on the other hand wasn’t so fortunate, he added: “I was so relaxed I promptly dropped and smashed a cake stand while handing out the cakes. I guess it did leave a lasting memory with the residents and no doubt I will be remembered as the guy from head office who broke the cake stand!”
