Partnership strengthens services in East Cambs
Work to create a one stop shop to deal with residents’ council and housing needs in East Cambridgeshire is on target to be completed this month.
Development of a new reception area at East Cambridgeshire District Council began in April, with the aim of providing residents and customers with better facilities − such as interview rooms, computer terminals and a single point of contact for Sanctuary Housing and the council.
During the renovation, the reception area has remained open. With work on schedule, Sanctuary staff will be moving from St Mary’s Lodge, Ely, into the new office at The Grange, Ely, from Tuesday 8 May.
Emma Keegan, Sanctuary’s regional director, said: “We are constantly looking for new and better ways to meet our customers’ needs. By teaming up with East Cambridgeshire District Council, we can ensure local people continue to enjoy excellent services delivered by local staff, now under one roof.
“It is wonderful to see the progress made so far and we are looking forward to welcoming local residents to the new-look space very shortly.”
John Hill, chief executive at East Cambridgeshire District Council, added: “Work on the new reception area is progressing really well and I’d like to thank all our residents and visitors to The Grange for their patience and understanding while the renovations have been undertaken.
“We are on target to have the work completed by 18 May, when residents will be able to have all their council and housing needs dealt with by local authority and Sanctuary staff in one place.”
