Pre-schoolers take on mini marathon for Sport Relief
A group of children from the Barney Bears Pre-School in Ely, Cambridgeshire completed their own mini marathon on Friday by taking part in a sponsored walk to raise money for Sport Relief.
The 45 minute walk took the thee and four-year-olds on a tour of Ely’s High Barns Estate and, thanks to sponsorship from friends and family, the group raised an impressive total of £60 for Sport Relief.
Barney Bears Pre-School is one of the most popular schemes at the Barns Community Rooms on the High Barns Estate – a community facility managed and run by housing provider Sanctuary Hereward.
Pre-school leader, Belinda Ashdown said: “The children really enjoyed their walk as it gave them the opportunity to get out and about in the fresh air and stretch their legs, while helping to raise money for Sport Relief’s good causes.”
Other groups offered at the venue, on the High Barns Estate, include an after-school club and ‘musical’ and ‘messy play’ parent and toddler sessions.
