Local runner Penny Sherwood, who works as part of Riviera Housing’s Internal Maintenance Team, raised money for charity this weekend by running six miles as part of Sports Relief in Plymouth.
Penny completed the six mile course in just under an hour, raising more than £400 which will go towards helping people living difficult lives across the UK and the rest of the world.
Penny said: “My colleagues and friends at Riviera have been very supportive and I’d like to thank everyone who’s sponsored me so far. They’ve really spurred me on and I found the whole experience thoroughly rewarding and I’m really happy with my time too.
“Sports relief really does make a difference to people’s lives and it’s a great feeling to know that the money is going to such worthwhile cause.”
The Sport Relief Weekend ran from 19th-21st March, and has currently raised £31,637,091.
