Sanctuary helps netball team shoot for the stars
A newly formed netball team from Banbury is starting the summer season all kitted out, thanks to a new team strip sponsored by Sanctuary Housing.
The members of ‘Shooting Stars’ will have an extra spring in their step as they take to the court in their new kit, thanks to a £1,000 donation from the leading housing provider.
A squad of 10, the ladies began passing and pivoting together six months ago, and have just started the summer season in the Oxfordshire Netball League.
The ladies currently train every Tuesday evening and have been offered professional training opportunities for the new season, in a bid to push for success.
Michelle Gray, 35, captain of Shooting Stars, said: "We are grateful to Sanctuary for such a generous donation that has ensured we can play in the league this season, and do so in a striking new kit.
“Sponsorship and support is all part and parcel of being a successful team and we will wear our Sanctuary sponsored kits with pride.”
Harjinder Lota, Sanctuary’s head of local partnerships, added: "We are delighted to help out Shooting Stars with their league entry this season and a new strip. Many of our residents and staff are involved in local sporting teams and we want to continue to offer our support to the communities in which we work.”
