At Sanctuary, we recognise the opportunity that technology and innovation presents. We seek to use technology to enable growth and facilitate high-quality customer service.

kradle: The Care Planning Assistant

As part of its commitment to using technology to deliver the highest levels of service, Sanctuary has developed its own electronic care planning app, kradle.

Revolutionising the way staff look after residents across the Group’s care homes, kradle frees carers from time-consuming paperwork by allowing them to review, record and share important information about residents using iPhones directly at the point of care.

Details entered on the app are automatically updated on a website available on desktop computers and laptops, so staff and managers can monitor care in real-time.

What sets kradle apart from other, off-the-shelf, solutions to care planning is that it has been developed from the ground up by staff from Sanctuary Care working hand-in-hand with the Group’s Information Systems team (IS).

Our care staff are experts in looking after older people and know exactly what works best in a care home setting, while our IS team used their technical expertise to shape the app and deliver the best possible user experience.

kradle is easy to use, with even staff who were not previously confident computer users commenting on its simplicity, and is constantly being developed based on feedback from users.

With the rollout across the Group’s care homes now well underway, kradle is transforming the way we work, placing greater emphasis than ever on delivering high quality, individualised care to our residents.

SAP: OneSanctuary

Sanctuary Group became the first housing association to implement SAP company-wide, with our programme OneSanctuary.

With over 105,000 homes, more than 13,000 staff and £5 billion of assets, Sanctuary is a complex business. The development of OneSanctuary, a single system, is providing us with a strong foundation for supporting the Group's continuous growth by improving our ways of working and helping us to achieve greater operational efficiency internally and externally.

Now 5,000 staff use OneSanctuary on a daily basis and this large scale technology solution is transforming the way we operate. We use SAP for Finance, Procurement, HR, Service Charges, Learning and Development, Housing, Maintenance and Assets.

We are now keen to share what we've learnt throughout this process so, if you would like to visit us and hear more about OneSanctuary, email:

Shared Service Centre

The successful implementation of SAP, through our OneSanctuary programme, enabled us to establish a Shared Service Centre for the Group which now manages all HR, Finance, IS and purchasing queries from staff, as well as suppliers.
