A picture of Helping to sustain tenancies

Managing a tenancy can be a challenging experience for many people. For people living in affordable housing or supported living social issues are more prevalent and, without the right support, this can lead to the breakdown of a tenancy.

This year we invested in 48 initiatives which helped people who may struggle to maintain their tenancy. This includes initiatives which help to build family relationships, help people to manage a household budget and tackle the underlying issues which can lead to antisocial behaviour.

Accessing appropriate and impartial advice around financial services is key to providing an alternative to doorstep lending which is fuelling problem debt. Our partnership with West Cheshire Credit Union is supporting a community savings and loan service for local people. Our investment last year enabled 283 people to access an affordable loan, including one lady who recently moved into her property and needed to purchase beds for her children.
