Mitchell Iles – Graduate Case Study

Following work experience in both the public and private sector after graduating, Mitchell knew he wanted to start his career at an organisation with a clear sense of social purpose.

Sanctuary’s graduate programme provided him with that opportunity because it offered “a strong degree of variety in both strategic and operational projects”, while “also creating an environment for me to develop my business acumen and achieve my full potential”.

Mitchell’s first placement was with Sanctuary Care, working in the Transformation team to develop an app to help staff deliver care to residents.

He then joined the Development team, participating in a number of different projects, which gave him an understanding of the development process and its challenges.

Mitchell, who studied Politics at the University of Glasgow, said: “I am confident that the works I have undertaken in my first two placements have not only offered me significant personal development but also achieved a positive contribution to the business.

“I look forward to my final year on the programme, tackling the challenges and opportunities of the not for profit housing sector.”
