A picture of Mitchell's story

Mitchell studied Politics at the University of Glasgow.

Prior to applying to the Sanctuary Graduate programme I was fortunate enough to gain work experience in both the public and private sector. These experiences affirmed the importance of starting my career at an organisation which had a clear strategy, and a sense of social purpose, whilst also creating an environment for me to develop my business acumen and achieve my full potential.

The graduate programme here at Sanctuary Group offers a strong degree of variety in both strategic and operational projects. My first placement within the business was Sanctuary Care; here I was part of the Transformation team developing an app that contributes to our delivery of industry leading levels of care. Following successful completion of this placement I joined the Development team. This placement has allowed me to actively participate in projects at different stages of developments that ensured an understanding of the challenges that must be overcome at all stages of a development to ensure that we supply new homes to the standard we demand for our clients.

I am confident that the works I have undertaken in my first two placements have not only offered me significant personal development but also achieved a positive contribution to the business. I look forward to my final year on the programme, tackling the challenges and opportunities of the non for profit housing sector.
