A picture of Businesswoman on top of the world with exam success

A talented businesswoman from Worcester has shown she has what it takes to reach the top after achieving some of the best exam results in the world.

Maisie Jenkinson, a commercial project analyst for leading housing provider Sanctuary Group, recorded the joint sixth highest mark out of several hundred global candidates in the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants’ (CIMA) Operational Case Study Exam.

The assessment, the first of three in Maisie’s journey towards completing the prestigious qualification, required her to apply a variety of financial skills to a mock business scenario.

Success for the 25-year-old Oxford graduate is the culmination of months of hard work which has seen her combine employment at Sanctuary, based in Castle Street, with studying at Kaplan Financial in Birmingham.

Maisie joined Sanctuary in 2013, after leaving university with a degree in human sciences, and was part of the Group’s graduate programme before securing a permanent position.

During the two-year programme she spent time in different areas of the business which helped broaden her knowledge about the Group and enhance her business skills.

She said: “To have been awarded such a high mark in my chosen field of expertise is something I am immensely proud of and I look forward to building on this in the future. It is an important step in my career and I’m grateful to both Sanctuary and CIMA for their continued support.”

Nicole Seymour, Director – Corporate Services, commented: “Maisie has always shown a determination to succeed and I would like to congratulate her on this deserved achievement.

“Sanctuary prides itself on nurturing talented businesspeople through its graduate programme and Maisie’s success is a testament to this.”

Maisie added: “Sanctuary’s graduate programme gave me the opportunity to gain a broad understanding of a complex organisation and become involved with decision-making in a variety of business areas.

“Such exposure has held me in good stead and I know it will be hugely beneficial to my career going forward.
