A picture of Sanctuary Group apprentices mark National Apprenticeship Week

Sanctuary Group apprentices from across the country have been marking the 10th annual National Apprenticeship Week (NAW) through a range of activities.

The leading housing and care provider organised a number of opportunities for its apprentices to support the week-long campaign, allowing them to give back to the community, utilise their skills and meet new people.

What did Sanctuary apprentices do?

Activities the apprentices took part in include:

  • Employee volunteering for local charities,– including an animal rescue shelter and hospice
  • Job swaps and shadowing
  • Q & A sessions for apprentices to speak to company Directors and learn about how their careers have developed
  • Networking events
  • Team building opportunities
  • CV writing and interview skills sessions

“Committed to nurturing its talent”

Nicole Seymour, Director – Corporate Services, said: “We are delighted to once again show our support for National Apprenticeship Week, in particular this year as it celebrates its 10th anniversary.

“Sanctuary has always been committed to nurturing its talent and this week enables us to provide our apprentices with a chance to get involved in a whole range of opportunities that will not only utilise their skills but also develop them too.”

National Apprenticeship Week

NAW (6-10 March 2017) is an annual event, organised by the National Apprenticeship Service, which celebrates the talents and skills of apprentices and the value of apprenticeship programmes.

Sanctuary Group’s apprenticeship scheme

Sanctuary operates a UK-wide apprenticeship scheme that is helping many young people into employment.

The award winning scheme has supported almost 1,400 young people into placements, both directly within Sanctuary and through development partners.

The programme provides apprentices with a meaningful career path, on-the-job training, support in achieving nationally recognised qualifications and the opportunity to earn while they learn.
