A picture of New homes on the horizon in Chester

Work is continuing apace to deliver 29 new affordable homes across three Chester developments in the spring of 2019.

A mix of apartments and family homes are being built by Sanctuary Homes in Blacon and the villages of Elton and Saughall, all for affordable rent.

Around £3 million is being invested in the properties, which are being part funded by Homes England and the Regeneration Capital Grant Fund.

A total of 19 properties will be built on the site of the former Highfield pub, off Western Avenue, in Blacon, comprising six three-bedroom houses, five two-bedroom houses and eight one-bedroom apartments.

In Elton, a small former garage site at Whitefields is being converted into four one-bedroom apartments, while six one-bedroom apartments are also being built at Church Road in Saughall.

Danielle Wrigley, Sanctuary’s senior development manager, said: “These homes will be a welcome addition to the local housing market once complete, and we will continue to identify further building opportunities across the region through our development programme.”

Sanctuary is also delivering 56 new homes on the Chase Park development in Ellesmere Port.

A mix of shared ownership, affordable rent and outright sale housing, prices start from £33,750 for a 25 per cent share of a two-bedroom home and £43,750 for a 25 per cent share of a three-bedroom home

Properties are also available to buy outright and with the use of the Help to Buy scheme. Visit https://www.sanctuary-homes.co.uk/developments/chase-park for more details.
