Apprentices from Sanctuary Group have been taking part in a wide range of activities to celebrate National Apprenticeship Week (NAW).

The leading social housing and care provider organised a number of opportunities for apprentices and their colleagues to show their support for the week-long campaign between 4-8 March.

Activities the apprentices took part in included:

  • Job swaps and shadowing
  • Q&A sessions with Group directors
  • Networking events and an apprenticeship coffee morning
  • Team building opportunities
  • Employee volunteering in the local community

Current and former apprentices also delivered a presentation about their work with the West Midlands Young Apprentice Ambassadors Network, promoting apprenticeships to businesses and young people across the region.

Michelle Wood, Sanctuary’s Group Head of Learning and Development, said: “National Apprenticeship Week is a great opportunity to celebrate the valuable contribution apprentices make to our organisation, as well as promoting the benefits of apprenticeships to a wider audience.”

Sanctuary’s award-winning national apprenticeship programme has been running since 2008 and has supported more than 1,800 people into work during that time, both directly and through development partners.

As well as the chance to earn while they learn, Sanctuary apprentices receive high-level on-the-job training, support to receive nationally-recognised qualifications and a strong grounding within a national organisation.

Nicole Seymour, Group Director – Corporate Services, added: “Sanctuary is committed to investing in new talent and providing opportunities for them to succeed and realise their ambitions.

“Our apprenticeship programme is a fantastic example of this, with these young people becoming an important part of our workforce and making a significant contribution to our success.”

National Apprenticeship Week is an annual event, organised by the National Apprenticeship Service, celebrating the talents and skills of apprentices and the value of apprenticeship programmes.
