A picture of Sanctuary Supported Living named as region’s best provider

National supported housing provider Sanctuary Supported Living has been named as the best care employer in the West Midlands.

Staff are celebrating after Sanctuary Supported Living won the Care Employer category at the West Midlands regional finals of the Great British Care Awards.

Owning and managing more than 300 services around the country, Sanctuary Supported Living supports residents from a range of different groups, including those with disabilities or mental health needs, young people, and those affected by homelessness or domestic violence.

Achievements in the last year include four services being rated as ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission, reaching 91 per cent in the resident satisfaction survey and the creation of the Communications Toolkit, which supports staff who work with non-verbal clients or those with special communication needs.

Sanctuary Supported Living will now go forward to the national finals of the Great British Care Awards next year. Also attending will be staff from Sanctuary Supported Living’s Hilltop House, a service supporting adults with physical disabilities, which came top in the Putting People First / Personalisation category at the East regional finals.

Sara Keetley, Operations Director – Sanctuary Supported Living, said: “We are all delighted that Sanctuary Supported Living has received this accolade. As a supported housing provider, our ethos is to put our residents at the heart of all we do, so for that to be recognised in this way is just incredible.

“This award is for each and every staff member who support some of society’s most vulnerable people in our services. While it would be fantastic to win the award at the national finals, I am already so proud of everybody at Sanctuary Supported Living for this achievement.”
