Work on a development of 16 new homes in Westcliff-on-Sea has now been completed.

The Westcliffs, which has been built by Sanctuary Homes, provides a mix of one and two-bedroom apartments for local people.

All homes were available for either affordable rent or shared ownership, providing the perfect purchase opportunity for first-time buyers.

The 2.8m scheme, which has been part funded by Homes England, has been built on the site of a former supported living development which was no longer fit for purpose.

In addition to the construction of the apartments, the scheme boasts a generous communal garden for residents.

The development has been well received locally, with all apartments now occupied by new residents.

Chris Nixon, Development Manager for Sanctuary Homes, commented: “This has been a particularly exciting development for the team because we have had the opportunity to take an existing building which was not fit for purpose, knock it down and use the land to construct these much needed new homes.

“I am sure residents will enjoy their new surroundings and the work strengthens our existing portfolio of homes in the region.”
