Sanctuary Group has reinforced its commitment to providing its Fairness for All approach, by signing up to the Chartered Institute of Housing’s (CIH) Equality and Diversity Charter.

Supporting housing associations, the CIH charter strives to improve greater awareness of equality and diversity, allowing the sector to share best practice, knowledge and expertise.

The commitments set out in the charter will strengthen the Group’s current Fairness for All action plan, and complement the current objectives of providing fair and equal access to all jobs; ensuring customers have fair access to the services they need; and working towards the elimination of discrimination and the promotion of fairness.

Sophie Atkinson, Sanctuary’s director of governance and legal services, said: “Equality and Diversity is embedded in everything we do, from the training we offer our staff to the involvement of our customers in helping shape services, and by signing up to the charter we are reinforcing our position as a landlord with fairness at its core.

“Each of our operational areas will utilise the charter’s framework to inform our business planning, which will drive improvements and ensure our services continue to meet the needs of our varied customers.”
