A picture of Sanctuary signs pledges to tackle domestic abuse

Sanctuary Group has underlined its commitment to the welfare of residents and employees by signing up to two national campaigns to tackle domestic violence.

The leading social housing and care provider has joined organisations across the country supporting the Make a Stand campaign and White Ribbon.

Make a Stand has been developed by the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) in partnership with the Domestic Abuse Housing Alliance and Women’s Aid. As a signatory, Sanctuary has promised to support those affected by violence in the home by raising awareness among residents and staff.

White Ribbon is a male-led campaign which aims to end violence by men against women.

Sanctuary operates a number of domestic abuse services under its supported living operation offering outreach support and safe accommodation for people escaping violence.

Nicole Seymour, Group Director – Corporate Services, said: “Domestic abuse can affect people in all walks of life including our staff and our residents. As an organisation which has expertise in supporting people affected by domestic abuse, we wanted to lend our voice to raising awareness of this important issue and ensure we are doing all we can to put a stop to it.”
